ION Fuse Drysuit and Ezzy Panther Mk3

Tested January 15th 2011

Danny

First chance to use some of the new kit, so here is an update.

ION dry suit got a few funny looks and comments - but
it was toasty warm, no leaks, very comfortable in the neck, arms and wrists (but I have trimmed the dry seals). Just wore a thermal top and pants under it, even wore the pants home. Not often you come back to the beach to cool down. But the best part was how unrestricted you felt, like sailing in and old pair of jeans and a sweatshirt. Also total buoyancy, and with the harness on all the air didn't rush to my feet.

Ezzy panther 111 - looks the Dogs in blue and green!
It feels lighter in the hands, but maybe not as powerful as the panther Mk1.
I think they may well need less downhaul this year or perhaps I over did it a bit, as it looked really windy at first. Very smooth on the water and complements the RRD boards perfectly.
