The Lion is the Power Freeride sail from Ezzy. Designed to get you going as early as possible and then be as quick as you would want it to be! The sails are equiped with the Ezzy Calibrated Downhaul system and the latest plastic roller cams. New for 2020 is the addition of a Dyneema window panel rather than the vinyl panel of years gone by. The Lions main claim to fame is that it is 'probably' the only. sail now available that offers no-cam, single cam or twin cam set up.. One does all!

The Ezzy Lion is our twin-cam, power-freeride sail.
Unlike many wide-sleeved, cambered sails on the market, the Lion’s sleeve is just narrow enough to make waterstarting and uphauling easy.
We replaced the vinyl with a dyneema-reinforced window that increases stability in high winds and dramatically improves the transfer of wind energy into board speed.
You can remove either the top or bottom cam to create a
single-cam, freeride experience. And even use the Lion without the cams—the flatter shape of the Lion without cams works great for learning to foil.
In our factory, we rig and inspect every single Lion and then calibrate the downhaul gauge, so you can find the perfect downhaul every time you rig.

After much R&D, the new Lion is ready.
The biggest improvement with the new Lion is its speed. The vinyl window is replaced by a low-stretch, Dyneema-enforced, multi-layer film that greatly improves the energy transfer from the gust of wind to board speed. The sail moves much less when hit by a gust—you simply go faster.
To improve the top speed, the new Lion is designed to ride with more downhaul in stronger winds. At the same time, the Lion retains its famous low-end grunt at the minimum downhaul settings.
The Lion is for sailors who want extra performance and desire the full-profile power and dynamic rotation that cams provide. The cams give the Lion extra stability through the board, this not only means that you go faster, but you also cut through chop easier, with the added pressure through the board, the rail bites better when jibing.
The Lion comes with two RDM cams installed to fit the Ezzy masts (and any other RDM mast). Additional cams to fit all SDM masts can be purchased separately. For use with non Ezzy masts, please refer to the rigging guide provided.
