One more, Four to go, One Used and All changeth this Weekend!

Yes, there is just one more Friday evening ramble to go, which will beckon in the  Christmas Weekend, but for now it’s just the penultimate Weekend ramble!
And what a weekend it is looking to be. For those of you who have been enjoying Winters version of a tranquil High Pressure (your house must be well insulated!) then sadly it is coming to an end, as the forecasters predict wet, warm and windy weather is about to barge its way in from Sunday on and currently looking to be a resident of Shoreham right up until the Christmas weekend. Did I hear a Hallelujah? Apart from the smile that this news will bring to many faces, this is going to be  shock to us all, as the temperatures are forecast to soar to 12°C by late Monday, which is 20°C higher than the rather frigid -8°C that was registered on my dear old van and the wife’s car first thing this morning (my hands have still not recovered from freezing whilst trying to scrape the ice off!) . Mind you , that was 18 miles inland..  it was in fact a mere -2°C down here at the beach at 9.30am, which is still cold enough in my book. I guess you could go and find your shorts and flip flops in readiness for the Christmas Day Aussie Style BBQ but maybe not just yet, as tonight and part of tomorrow are still going to be COLD enough to freeze a snake’s butt in a wagon rut! I do love a turbulent change.

“Oh for the Wings…” No, not a Christmas carol but a wish and for those wishing for a pre-Christmas Wing Foiling wing bargain, here are a few brand-New Wings in stock that might be of interest.
In size order we have..
F-One Swing V2 5.0m  RRP £1000.00 Now £769.00
Duotone Unit 2022 5.0m RRP £909.00 Now £749.00
Slingshot Swingwing 2021 5.4m RRP £849.00 Now £509.00!
F-One Strike CWC 2022 6.0m RRP £1100.00 Now £935.00
Please contact us for colours etc. and remember that some will require a wrist leash (from £33.00) and all will require a pump (from £42.00).
The Duotone Unit could be a nice match to go with a Fanatic Sky Wing board and the Fanatic AL 3.0 foil, which went bought together saves you 20% off of the £1249.00 board RRP and whichever foil / mast combination you opt for.. Talk to us on that one. You can of course just buy the board and foil and still have the 20% discount on both.

We also have a Used but in VGC Ensis Score 4.5m. This particular size of Score is a great size to start with if you are sub 70kg (as per the previous owner), as it has the power of a 5.0m in most other makes. Some say that is because Ensis understate their wing sizes but a neighbour of mine uses his 4.5m Score for ‘all’ wind strengths, so who cares if they do.  It’s up for £400.00 and first to see.. I hope will buy!

SUP boards are something we have ‘a few’ of, as you can tell by the ‘representative’ stack which is blocking out the shops front window (should have taken a pic.. maybe tomo!) and if you should be in the market for the most accessible ‘standing’ Watersports vessel,  let us know what you’re looking for and we can do a quick check on the ‘Online price’ and match or sometimes we do even better! I just want LIGHT to get into the shop.

Now for the weekends weather, as the wife has just texted me to say it is already Minus 4°C inland and tonight, I walk to the pub (last week was ‘quite’ chilly!)!
Saturday kicks off with a Nor’West wind that quite quickly swings around to the South and will build during the morning to 12-18kts and then drop back slightly during the afternoon to 10 -16kts. The temp will rise to 7°C and no rain shown at the moment. Tide is High at 17.37hrs on a 4.8m which is not that helpful,  as the wind is onshore and the water will stay around the end of the rock groynes making launching ‘difficult’, so be aware if you are walking your dog!

Sunday the change starts to take place, with the Southerly winds increasing to 20kt gusting 35kt during the afternoon, bringing the temperature slowly up to 10°C but also bringing persistent rain with it (that will not be good for friends of mine who are up at Stonehenge taking part in a pre-Solstice event) which is forecast to arrive mid-morning. Tide hits High at 18.46hrs on a 4.9m, so again launching could be slightly ‘awkward’ with the onshore winds.
The rest of the week shows the wind backing to a more Sou’West direction and increasing to gusts of around 40kts on Monday (still raining..) and the temperature should be around 12°C by
late afternoon. The whole week stays windy, so book your slot and remember that Wednesday is the 21st and therefore our Deepest Winters Day! On Thursday the Sun turns around and heads back this way… that deserves a whoop!

And that is the last whoop for this week. Don’t forget that we are doing the Mulled Wine and Mince Pies on Sunday 10am – 1.00pm and the shop is open for business all weekend. Will be good to see you but have a great time, whatever you get up to!

Cheery Pip!
