A sad event to start the weekend. HRH Duke of Edinburgh.

Oh yes,  it’s Friday Night and IT IS THE WEEKEND!!

Where the heck do you start today.. first of all I think we have to tip our hats
for the passing on of the Duke of Edinburgh. So sad that he was so close to receiving the Telegram for his 100th! Whatever anyone may have thought of the man he never flinched from his views and ways,  whatever the response to it was going to be. That is a rare thing in today’s ‘don’t rock the boat society’.  We send our condolences to Her Majesty the Queen and to the Royal Family.  A very sad day for them all.

April the 12th.. Monday. It is the start of the opening up of Retail shops and along with every shop in the country we will be trying to do this as safely as we can. The shop as you all will know is quite small and we will therefore be restricting entry to Two People maximum to minimise transmission of the virus. This will slow things up but we will do our best to keep waiting times to a minimum. After a week or so we are likely to return to both James and myself being back in the shop at the same time (this has only happened on days were there was no way one person could deal with the deliveries , as per last Wednesday when we were inundated due to the couriers back logging the deliveries). Everyone has been asking about wetsuits and  that is a real problem as the changing room is in a position where it is too close to the working area in the office and the ventilation is almost nonexistent. We also have to decontaminate after each person and allow 72 hours for garments between customers trying on. As I am sure you can appreciate this is difficult! We are trying to work out where we could position a temporary changing area but as yet we cannot think how.. please bear with us!

SUP boards are still the main enquiry area. We have had a delivery of STX inflatable’s arrive this week so there are now 10’6 boards available! We also have a shipment of Gladiator boards arriving this coming week. Be quick if you are interested in an iSUP as we are unlikely to see more stock in the near future.

Wetsuits and waterwear as a whole are still a complete nightmare. Pro Limit 4/3mm Lady suits that we expected to  receive  6 weeks ago have just arrived (thankfully with the current temperatures they are still needed!) and again if you are interested do ask now, as currently we are being told that there will be no more stock until the Autumn.  ION  3/2mm short arm suits have also arrived along with the Ladies Amaze shorties, Ivy and Vector Impact Vests.  Mystic suits are in a box and yet to be checked! We also now have the much loved  TWF Beach Shoes and reasonably priced Bodyboards available again. What we really could do with is a few warmer days but chatting with people in other Euro countries we are ALL freezing our butts off!  This is not a hard sell… it really is a case of stock being sold out before it arrives at the manufacturers.

Our first delivery of MB Wingboards and their waist leashes are imminent (should have arrived today but bet the courier delivers them at 4.30pm tomorrow, as per last week when they turned up with seven SUP and windsurf boards. I was chuffed to say the least as we have to check every board for damage.. another late night! More good news is that the all New Naish 26 Wings are now in stock.
A new Window layout means a smaller packed wing!  Things are getting better day by day so the Toys will be available for what we hope will be a great summer! Saturdays weather is not looking that great though .. here is the weekends Weather and Tides.
Saturday we have rain all day along with winds from the Nor’ East at 16kts..  air temp 7°C. The tide is High at 11.32hrs on a 5.8m so Wing Foilers maybe out on the estuary.
Sunday is a brighter day but the wind is still from the North at 16kts so temps still around 8°C. Tide hits High at 12.10hrs on a 6m.

We hope your weekend goes well.. stay warm and spare a thought for all of those who are still
hard at work in our Hospitals.. it isn’t done yet!

Our thanks to Buckingham Palace for the picture of HRH The Duke of Edinburgh. We posted no other pictures out of respect,

Sadly the picture of Prince Philip was removed in case of Copyright.
