 Ooops.. an apology as I got it wrong! 
You know when you have a feeling that something is not right.. so when I got home last night and scanned over my yesterdays 'ramblings' I realised what it was.
38% increase on a sail in twenty years did not equate with the prices! That was wrong.. it is of course a 61% increase. 38% is the percentage of the old sail value to the new!
So my apologies for the mistake as it is a huge difference but 61% is still only an annual increase of approx 3% over the twenty years (inflation statistics over the last twenty years?) so I guess that would still have to be classed as acceptable. Whether your earnings have increased at the same rate is another matter..
Sorry about that but I do like to 'put my hand up' when I've got it wrong! :)
