Bank Holiday Weekend Opening and the REAL LIFE OF BRIAN!

Bank Holiday Weekend and the last one of 2016...  :(

Just a quickie to say that we are open all weekend long.... :(
Saturday 9.30 - 5.30pm
Sunday and Monday 10.00 - 4.00pm

Wind looks possible for Sunday / Monday but tomorrow looks to be a bit of a 'messy day' wind and weather wise, so will be  a case of look out of the window and then decide what to do!
Tides are neap'ish with 5.1m at 18.52hrs Saturday, 5.3m at 21.17hrs Sunday (big jump) and then 5.6m at 22.20hrs Monday.

Now.. I'm not sure how many of you will know of or remember a Shoreham Beach Windsurfing Local (one of the original sailors in the early days of windsurfing at Shoreham) by the name of Brian Winstanley.. but if you do you will know that Brian was a real character who did do some crazy things! One that I always remember is the day he sailed out to a large ship moored a fir way out waiting to come into the port on the high tide. Brian decided he would sail around it which was not a good idea as the ship blocked the wind and Brian 'sank' his sinker. He was swimming for ages and then had a really lucky escape as the ship started up to come in and he narrowly missed being sucked into the prop! Sad to say that later in his life his luck ran out and he was hit by medical issues and suffered an awful run of bad luck concerning these issues (infections took a bad thing and turned it into a terrible thing).
At one point we all got together to buy Brian an electrically operated orthopaedic bed as it broke your heart just watching this guy being taken apart by incredibly bad luck.
But if Brian was one thing then BRAVE describes it best and after all of the problems life set him he decided that perhaps it would be a good thing to run back through all of the trials and tribulations he had endured and put his story onto paper. So he did (after a bit of family persuasion) and it has now been published... it's called
The Real Life of Brian!

I have now read three chapters and I have to say he has written it just as if he were 'telling' you about it, so it's a bit odd to start with but the more you read the more you realise that if you didn't know Brian then the picture painted in your mind is pretty much 'Brian'.

We have a couple of copies in the shop if you would like to take a look or you can buy one direct from Brian himself.. call him on 01273 453957.. he will probably sign it for you too! (his hands are a bit 'stiff' but I reckon he would give it a go).

( You can see a better picture and intro to the book on our facebook page.. Click Here! )

Price is £9.99 and all proceeds go to.. Brian.

Have a great weekend and have FUN!
