Kiteboard Found and Kiteboarder Injured

We have news of a Kiteboard being found on Shoreham Beach last Tuesday. It could have come from a beach close by so don't rule it out if you were riding elsewhere or lost it earlier in the week.

Please contact Trevor on 07768 868283 and identify your lost board to him... if you are a winner do drop Trevor a couple of bottles of wine!

Also feel the need to mention that a local kitesurfer was badly hurt a couple of weeks back when he collided with one of the old submerged wooden groynes just to the West of the Ferry Road beach walk on. This is so easy to do even if you are aware of their presense (having hit the one at the Church of the Good Shepherd myself..) as you can forget quite quickly where you are when playing on a wave, as Dan did! Hope you are back out on the water soon Dan.
So, please do make newcomers to the beach aware of them when you can and try and keep them in your own mind at all times!

Note.
We did ask both the Council and the Enviroment Agency to mark these submerged groynes when they modified the beach (sorry, it's not a beach, it's a sea defence) for the rock groynes we have now, but both refused saying it wasn't their problem. They did however cover their backsides by putting up signs saying Beware of Submerged Sea Defences... very helpful!
